# Quality Goods — Trusted Vendor List (starter)

The curated shortlist the `/quality-goods` skill searches FIRST when shopping for a
physical item. These are heritage / small-batch / made-to-last / made-to-repair sellers,
or aggregators that pre-vet for craftsmanship. Anything on this list already carries a
high trust signal.

This is my actual working list — prune it to your taste and grow it. **How to grow it:**
when you shop somewhere in person you love, a craftsperson at a market impresses you, or
a trusted friend strongly recommends a maker — drop them in immediately. Add a note and a
source attribution so the trust provenance is preserved. Curation over volume: a vendor
only earns a spot if it clears the bar at the bottom of this file.

| Ruggable | https://ruggable.com | ⚠️ **NOT heirloom-grade — practicality only.** Two-piece washable rug system (printed cover + non-slip pad). ## Category-specific shopping rules

Rules of thumb to apply during a `/quality-goods` search before recommending a size or product. They live here so they auto-load with the vendor list.

### Rugs

- **Dining table on rug → rug must extend 24" past the table on every side.** Otherwise the back legs of chairs roll off the rug edge when pulled out, snagging the binding and tipping the chair. The "small rug centered under the table" look reads great in photos but lives badly day-to-day.
- **Dining use → flatweave > pile.** Cotton dhurries, kilims, or low-pile wool flatweaves. Chairs slide; spills sponge up; no permanent pile-crush under table legs.
- **Walnut furniture pairing → sage / olive / forest green + cream/ivory.** Skip mint (too cool against the warm wood) and skip sage + chocolate brown combos (too matchy).

## The bar for inclusion

A vendor earns a spot if it clears most of these:
- Several years / decades of history; reputation precedes it
- Manufactures in small batches or curates makers who do
- Goods are made to last and made to repair (materials disclosed, parts/repair available)
- Reviews are real (organic across multiple trusted sites, not paid or AI-generated)
- NOT a trendy DTC brand that mostly spends on marketing and hasn't been around long
